Hand-colored half-plate daguerreotype in leather case of Clarissa Baxter Shattuck (b. 1797), wife of Lemuel Baxter Shattuck (1793-1859). The photograph was taken by John Adams Whipple of Boston, Mass. ca. 1850-1855. A note in an unknown hand that identifies the photograph is attached to the case.
